Pia Alfreda Schipani, also known as Pia Zadora, is an American singer and actress. She gained limelight when she starred in the movie Butterfly, which won her a Golden Globe Award in the New Star of the Year as well as Golden Raspberry Award for Worst New Star of the decade for the same movie.
Early Life and Education
The American actress was born on May 4, 1953, in Hoboken, New Jersey, United States. She was born to an Italian-American violinist Alphonse Schipani and Polish-American wardrobe supervisor at New York City Opera and Metropolitan Opera Saturnina Schipani.
Zadora belongs to American nationality and is white by ethnicity. Her birth sign is Taurus.
During her childhood, she got a chance to play in Midgie Purvis alongside Tallulah Bankhead, an American stage and screen actress. She used her mother’s maiden name as her stage name.
In 1964, Pia played Bielke in the Broadway production theatre show Fiddler on the Roof for two years.

Until now, the American actress has married three times. Her first marriage was with Israeli entrepreneur Meshulam Riklis on September 18, 1977. The couple had the age difference of 31 years; Zadora was 23 and Riklis was 54.
The couple welcomed their first child Kady on January 1, 1985, and their second child Kristofer Barzie was born on March 3, 1987. Their relationship broke apart after 18 years on March 29, 1995. Riklis died at the age of 95 on January 25, 2019.
Similarly, the American actress married Jonathan Kaufer, writer and director on August 27, 1995. They had a son Jordan Maxell on April 13, 1997. They were in a relationship for five years until the pair parted their ways.
Later, she married her third husband Michael Jeffries, a Las Vegas detective, on January 7, 2006.
In 2013, Zadora was accused of resorting to violence to her son Jordan and was incarcerated. She had to undergo probation period and impulse control counseling as well as alcohol consumption evaluation.
