Windsor Davies, 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum' Actor, Dies at Age 88

Windsor Davies, the actor best known for his portraying the sergeant major in 1970s hit series television series It Ain’t Half Hot Mum, has died. He was 88.

His daughter, Jane Davies, confirmed his death saying her father passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17. She said her parents left a large family and they all "will all remember them with love, laughter and gratitude".

According to the statement shred by Jane, Windsor's wife of 62 years, Eluned Davies, died in September.

The actor had retired to France with his wife before she passed away. They shared five children together.

Shortly after Windsor's passing news emerged, multiple stars including his It Ain't Half Hot Mum co-star Melvyn Hayes, paid tribute to the late comedy actor.

Melvyn shared, 'To work with him was a pleasure, a sheer delight... he was a lovely, lovely man.'

Windsor also appeared opposite Donald Sinden as Oliver Smallbridge in the ITV sitcom Never The Twain during the 1980s.
