A gunman started shooting pedestrians of Toronto’s busy Danforth Avenue randomly before he opened fire on crowded restaurants. The mass shooting left a young woman dead and 13 people injured, including a child in critical condition.
The shooter, who was reportedly of age 29, died in a nearby alley after exchanging the gunfire with police. However, it's still unclear if the gunman was shot or committed suicide.

His identification is yet to be released. The Special Investigation Unit is leading the devastating case and as per the report, it has assigned six investigators and three forensic investigators.
Mark Saunders, Toronto Police Chief, confirmed that the man used a handgun, however, he refused to speculate on a motive.

The chief said, "When we can provide more information we definitely will, but right now it’s important we don’t speculate."
A Toronto-based photojournalist, Andrew Collins, shared a short video clip of the incident when the suspect starts shooting.

Andrew was having a coffee with friends at Danforth and Logan Avenues when he heard the sound of gunshots at around 10 p.m.
When he turned, he saw a man, who was dressed in completely black, walking toward them carrying a handgun.
The the gunman pointed his gun and started firing at a crowd of people standing on the corner of the intersection, waiting to cross the street.
This mass shooting comes three months after a suspicious van attacked in the city; it had killed 10 people and left 16 others injured.
