Texas Murder Suspect Found Dead After 2 Children Discovered Dead in Burning Car

A Texas man, namely Mandeep Singh, was sought in the deaths of two children who were found dead inside a burning car and the suspect was discovered dead on Monday, May 13, authorities have confirmed.

The Cooke County Sheriff's Office shared a Facebook post and stated that 37-year-old suspect of Fort Worth was sought after a vehicle was discovered on fire in a roadway in the rural northwest area - about 18 miles northwest of Gainesville - on Sunday, May 12.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and found the dead bodies of the two kids in the backseat. A relative told media that the victims were of ages 3 and 5, adding that Mandeep was the father of the children.

As per the report, Mandeep was "armed and dangerous" before being discovered in a wooded area on Monday, May 13, and the area is not far from where officials found the car burning.

According to Cooke County Sheriff Terry Gilbert, Mandeep had been wanted on a capital murder charge. An autopsy was being performed to determine the cause of his death.

Additional details about what caused him to kill his children have not been avialable.

Court records obtained said that the father was previously charged with family violence and received two years deferred adjudication.
