Known to many as one of the best TV game show hosts ever, Alex Trebek is a household name in America. His long tenure as the host of the beloved TV show Jeopardy! Entertains a lot of people on a daily basis but the recent announcement of his stage 4 pancreatic cancer saddened all of his fans.
He revealed the shocking news via a video on YouTube uploaded by the official Jeopardy! Channel. He stressed that he wanted to directly address his fan base rather than them reading overblown news about his disease.

Trebek also said that the announcement was in keeping with his longtime personal policy of being transparent with his fans.
He also added that his prognosis discouraged him which is very understandable but he said that he would soldier on and is very hopeful about beating cancer.
The diagnosis comes after he underwent surgery to remove clots in his brain. He took a leave of absence from his show for the procedure.
Right after the announcement was made a huge number of people, both celebrities and fans, took to social media to express their concern as well as their support for Trebek. Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak tweeted out his concern for Trebek.

The chairman of Sony Pictures Television Mike Hopkins said that the company will support Trebek fully throughout this difficult time.
