Pennsylvania Man Arrested For Flushing Grandparents’ Ashes in Toilet

A Pennsylvania man, namely Thomas Wells, 33, was arrested after being accused of flushing his grandparents’ ashes down a toilet.

As per the report, The 33-year-old man from Pittsburgh did so after being kicked out of his house by his mother. He has been charged with two counts of abuse of a corpse and criminal mischief.

KDKA reported that Thomas appeared in court on Monday, May 13, for a preliminary hearing and was ordered to be held for trial.

He had been staying with his mother for a brief time but she later asked him to leave the house last September, McKeesport police said.

The news station reported that the mom told police that she kicked his son out of the house because "all he wanted to do was to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol."

Later through a relative, she found out that Thomas had flushed her parents' ashes, which were kept in a box in her bedroom, down the toilet before leaving the home.

According to the authorities, Thomas denied flushing the ashes during a phone call with his mom, however, the mom says he had texted her to say he would flush the ashes.

According to the criminal complaint, he texted her, "Yup, and as soon as you die, you’ll be in the s----er, you b----"

A trial date has not been set.
