New Jersey Student, 17, Dies in Car Crash Just a Day After Attending Prom

A high school student was killed and three others were injured in a car crash in New Jersey on Saturday, May 11, just a day after attending a prom.

Citing New Jersey State Police, NJ.com reported that Alexis "Lexi" Faye died in the accident occurred at approx. 5:30 p.m. in Fredon Township.

Alexis was a passenger in a Mercedez-Benz when it flipped over after it veering off the road.

The driver, Anthony Burke, 17, and passengers Maria Fiore, 16, and Nicholas Chavarria, 17, sustained injuries in the accident, which took place the day after a junior-senior prom of Newton High School.

Despite sufferring a concussion, the driver was in stable condition. However, Maria was in the ICU with life-threatening injuries (She is was expected to recover) while Nicholas was discharged from the hospital.

As per the report, the Benz sedan car they were riding in was rented for the occasion.

One of Alexis' friend, Sebastian Deleon, told NJ.com, "Everyone’s just heartbroken over it."

Deleon further said,

All the kids are coming together, everyone’s trying to support each other. We have so many memories.

Another friend, Briana Moffatt, told the outlet that the Alexis "lit up every room she walked into."

She added,

She was so easy to get along with and she was really an amazing person. She really was a blessing in all of our lives.
