Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Hearteu Resigns in the wake of Australian woman Death tragedy

Just a week after the fatal shooting of Australian woman Justin Damond by Minnapelos police department officer  Mohammad Noor took place, the Cheif of the Department Janee Harteau has resigned from her post.

The Mayer of the city, Besty Hughes officially announced the news after accepting Janee's resignation. Hughes had asked Janee to Resign from her Post citing her performance as ineffective in the first place saying, she and her department had lost confidence in Harteau.

After her resignation, Janee Spoke the media

the Last Saturday’s tragedy, as well as some other recent incidents, have caused me to engage in deep reflection," Harteau said in a statement. "The recent incidents do not reflect the training and procedures we’ve developed as a Department."

  Addressing the press Janee said:

"Justin shouldn't have died, this shouldn't have happened

Further, she said:

"I've decided I am willing to step aside to let a fresh set of leadership eyes see what more can be done for the MPD to be the very best it can be."
