Scottie Pippen and Larsa Pippen have officially split! The NBA player's wife has filed for divorce from him, after 21 years of marriage, multiple sources have confirmed.
In a statement to Us Weekly, Larsa said, "It is with deep sadness that Scottie and I announce that we are legally separating."
We have both tried very hard for a long time to make our marriage work and have ultimately come to the conclusion that it is best that we live separate lives. We have so many amazing memories together, remain best of friends and love each other very much. Our four children have always been our priority and for their sake we ask for as much privacy as possible for our family during this sensitive time.
In court documents filed in Los Angeles on Friday, November 2, The 'The Real Housewives of Miami' alum, 44, has cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their divorce.
Moreover, in the court documents obtained, the television personality has requested spousal support in addition to the joint physical and legal custody of the estranged couple's four children; Scotty Jr., 17, Preston, 16, Justin, 13, and Sophia, 9.
The basketball player, 53, who had ups and downs in his relationship with Larsa in recent years, had first filed for divorce from his wife in October 2016, but the two dismissed the case later that year in November 2017.
An insider told Us Weekly,
Larsa and Scottie did try hard to make it work, but just couldn’t figure it out in the end. It wasn’t the same after Scottie filed in 2016. They grew apart and have their own lives now. There were also a lot of things from their past that they couldn’t move on from. No drama, just issues. They are on good terms and are still close when it comes to their kids.
The estranged couple became married in July 1997.
Scottie also shares son Antron Pippen, 31, with his first wife, Karen McCollum (1988-1990). Additionally, he is also the father of daughters Taylor, 24, and Sierra, 23, who he share with ex-girlfriend Sonya Roby and ex-fiancée Yvette Deleone, respectively.
