Ken Berry, 'F Troop' and 'Mama's Family' Actor, Dies at Age 85

Ken Berry, a renowned actor of the 1960s and ’70s best known for his appearance in the classic television shows F-Troop and Mama’s Family, died has died at the age of 85.

His death was confirmed by his former wife Jackie Joseph-Lawrence; she took to Facebook on Sunday, December 2, to announce that Ken died on Saturday, December 1.

She wrote, "With very deep sorrow, I must inform friends of Ken Berry that he died a short time ago."

Further details like the cause of death has not been revealed yet.

Ken was also known for his role as Sam Jones on CBS hit series Mayberry R.F.D., the spinoff of The Andy Griffith Show which was created after Andy exited the series.

On the big screen, Ken starred in the Disney films The Cat From Outer Space (1978) and Herbie Rides Again (1974).

In addition to his Jackie, Ken is survived by their daughter, Jennifer; his longtime partner, Susan, and nieces Candy and Bonnie.
