Céline Dion is Not Dating Backup Dancer Pepe Muñoz: He

Amid the speculations that Céline Dion is dating Pepe Munoz, The R&B singer has now shut down all those rumors about her relationship with her backup dancer, saying that they are nothing more than best friends.

The songstress, 51, who just announced her upcoming new album and first world tour in a decade, both titled Courage, addressed how she and Pepe, 34, surrounded by romance rumors since the death of her husband René Angélil.

Dion had an interview with Extra on Thursday, April 4, where she made everything clear. Noting that Pepe is gay, she said, "At first I felt for him quite a bit."

She added, "Pepe is gay. At first, I think some people did not know that."

The singer continued,

The thing is that he’s my best friend and he did so much for me and even just holding my hand… it’s something that I haven’t had for a long time. A hug from a 6′ 3” man, it was wonderful. People really thought there was a romance going on. He did so much for me, for my mental health, my spirituality, my inner strength.

Dating rumors between the pair sparked in January when they were spotted together in multiple Paris outings during fashion week.

This is the second time Dion denied her romance with Pepe since the rumors fueled up. In January, she told The Sun,

Let’s not mix everything. … We’re friends, we’re best friends. Of course we hug and hold hands and go out, so people see that. I mean, he’s a gentleman. He’s giving me his hand to go out.

Dion's latest romance denial comes just two days after she had a talk with Deborah Roberts on Good Morning America, where she opened up about moving on following the death of her husband of 21 years.

She told the show host, "You cannot stop living. Go forward. Today is the first day of the beginning of [your] life."

The music producer passed away in January 2016 after a long battle with throat cancer. He was 73. The pair shared three children, René-Charles, 18, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 8.
