A Milpitas grandmother, 70, strangled her three years old grandson, as told by the victim's four-year-old cousin, who happens to be the only witness of the death.

Foos Hashi, 70, was backed by a public defender and an interpreter at Santa Clara County Hall of Justice in San Jose.

The proceeding of the court went smoothly and Hashi confessed to being guilty.

Milpitas Police officials said the incident took place on Monday afternoon in the 700th block of Luz Del Sol Loop.

Police authorities responded to a 911 call after the victim's aunt returned home from picking up her other children from school, only to find the boy unresponsive.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died about an hour later.

Luis Ramos, Deputy District Attorney said,

There's nothing that we can do to bring him back, but we're going to do everything we can to ensure that the person responsible is held accountable,

New documents received by ABC7 News revealed that the baby, named Ayub, had been sick and taking his medications in the days leading up to his death.

Foo Hashi told her family members, Ayub had vomited and laid him down to rest.

However, the District Attorney's office says the victim's 4-year-old cousin witnessed the 70-year-old grandmother choking him.

Ramos further added,

The four-year-old has revealed that she watched the grandmother strangle the child and throw him down on the floor,

At this point, the evidence seems to indicate that the grandma was the sole person responsible for the crime.

Police officials took Foo Hashi into custody Wednesday night and put her into the county jail.

More than a dozen family members and friends showed up to the court hearing this afternoon. Hashi did not enter a plea and bail was denied.

Hashi was charged with multiple counts, one including first-degree murder.

She now faces 25 years to life in jail and her hearing is due back in court on May 8th.
