A 21 years old woman has been sentenced to the jail by a Crown Court judge for slapping a one-year-old girl with such a force that it left a large red mark on the child's face.
The 21 years old lady, Hayley Francis, from Plymouth, hit the child in rage, which was later spotted by nursery staff.
Upon confrontation Hayley initially denied hitting the girl, however, she later pleaded guilty to the misconduct. In fact, Hayley also tried to blame someone else for the misbehavior which was overruled by the court.
On the day of the incident, Sally Daulton, for the Crown Prosecution Service, reported what the staff at the girl's nursery noticed and said that the child had been unwell and had a fever.
Sally also added saying,
They also noticed a red mark above the nappy line which they believed resembled a smack mark.
Sally also went to add that the staffs at the nursery took the child photographs and took her to the hospital. Hospital also confirmed the bruise on her face to have been from a slap. However, no longterm effects were reported by the hospital authority.
Well, as of now, Francis has been given a 12-month community order with 20 days of probation supervision under the service's Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and she is also ordered to pay prosecution cost of £500 and £35 as the standard victim surcharge.
