Film director Otto Preminger was born as Otto Ludwig Preminger in Wiznitz, Bukovina, Austria-Hungary (Vyzhnytsia, Ukraine) on 5th December 1905 with Sagittarius sun sign.
Otto belongs to the Jewish family. His father Josefa was a public prosecutor and retired attorney general of the Austria-Hunger whereas, his mother Markus was a housewife of the Preminger family.
He was raised along with his sibling, Ingo Preminger. They both were schooled in their hometown and later joined law studies at the University of Vienna.
Since from the beginning, Otto had a passion for acting and began appearing in University's minor show to performed his acting.

Joseph called Otto to a five o'clock meeting at the Imperial Hotel. While having a meeting for a straight half-hour Otto also met Joseph partner, Darryl F. Zanuck, who is a co-founder of Twentieth Century-Fox.
After finishing their meeting Otto accepted an invitation to work for Fox in Los Angeles. He even got his first assignment which was to direct a vehicle for Lawrence Tibbett.
Otto worked hard for completing the film well within the range of budget and to make well before the scheduled shooting deadline. In November 1936, the film opened to tepid notices.
American producer Zanuck gave Otto another task of directing B-picture comedy, romance film Danger-Love at Work. The film got released on 30 September 1937 with cast Simone Simon but later she got fired by Zanuck and Ann Sothern got her position.

In 1932, Otto got married to Marion Mill but the couple did not last long and in 1949, they got divorced. Later, he again married to a girl named Mary Gardner in 1951 and like the previous one, they got divorced in 1959.
After several years, Otto got married for the third time with the girl named Hope Bryce. Their marriage took place on 28th December 1971. The duo spread happiness by welcoming two children; a daughter, Victoria Preminger and a son, Mark Preminger.
Death of Otta Preminger
At the age of 80, he died in New York City on 23 April 1986. The causes of death were suffering from lung cancer and Alzheimer's disease.
