An officer of New York City Police Department, namely Valerie Cincinelli, 34, was arrested by the FBI after she allegedly tried to hire a hitman to kill her ex-husband and a young girl, authorities have confirmed.
A police official told NBC 4 New York that the 34-years-old police officer attempted to get her boyfriend to hire a hitman.
Valerie was taken into custody on Friday, May 17, following a sting operation. NYPD Internal Affairs led her to get arrested. She has been held without bail.
An investigator told the outlet that the child she was intending to kill is the 14-year-old daughter of her current boyfriend.
The woman's dad spoke to media about her daughter on late Friday night and defended her saying that he doesn't believe she could do so.
Valerie was hired in 2007 and she was assigned as a domestic-violence officer to the 106th Precinct in Queens after becoming involved with a man who she met on the job.
In 2017, Valerie, who previously won a "cop of the month" award, was placed on modified duty for an unrelated domestic incident.
