North Carolina Man Arrested for Shooting a Boy and a Girl in a Road Rage Fight with Their Dad

A man, namely Byron Donnell Green, 41, was arrested on Saturday, April 20, for allegedly shooting two children in an apparent road rage fight with their children in North Carolina.

The suspect was taken into custody after he shot a boy of age 9 and a girl of age 7, Surry County authorities said.

The shooting allegedly unfolded after the 41-year-old got involved in a traffic incident with the father of the children, Craig Allen Sheff, in the Flat Rock, Mount Airy.

Craig drove the kids to the hospital, where his son was treated and released. His daughter, meanwhile, had to undergo surgery but she reportedly is in stable condition.

According to Surry County authorities, Byron has been charged with inflicting serious injury, "assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill", assault by pointing a gun and discharging a weapon into an occupied property causing bodily injury.

He is being held on $600,000 bail. He is set to appear in court on June 11.
