Kerry was arrested after being treated at a hospital for gunshot injuries and now released.

The Sheriff’s website enlisted his release date as 20 April 2019, Saturday, twelve days after being taken into custody.

Attorney, Lauren Noriega, appealed that her client, Kerry Lathan, was just an innocent bystander who almost lost his life in the same shooting incident that claimed the life of rapper Nipsey Hussle.

Lauren further dismissed the previous reports that claimed Kelly was at Nipsey's The Marathon clothing store to collect merchandise from the store, after being released from prison.

In an interview with KABC-TV, Noriega said,

He wasn’t there to propose any business to Nipsey,

He had no idea that Nipsey would be there.

In a previous interview with VLAD TV, Kerry Lathan mentioned that he what went down to the store on the day of the incident.

He said that it was a coincidence that he met the rapper in his store.

Nipsey Hussle was shot on March 31st outside his The Marathon clothing store.
