Nicki Minaj’s brother Jelani Maraj is found guilty of raping an 11-year-old girl at his home in Baldwin, New York.
The Long Island newspaper Newsday reported that the 38-year-old jurors convicted Jelani in Nassau County Court on Thursday, 9th November, on a felony charge of predatory sexual assault on a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
Jelani reportedly showed emotionless when the verdict was read. He is going to be held without bail in Nassau County Correctional Center in East Meadow, New York.
Jelani, who is facing 25 years to life in prison, has been planning to appeal, according to his lawyer David Schwartz.

The girl, who is now 14, testified that her stepfather Jelani repeatedly sexually harassed and assaulted her between April and November 2015 while her mother was not at home. The defense claimed that all these allegations were made up in an attempt to extort $25 million from Jelani's sister, which his ex-wife denied.
As per the report, the girl’s brother also testified, claiming he once saw Jelani's “private parts” touching his sister. The 10-year-old boy told jurors that Jelani allegedly slapped him many times across the face after the incident and told him he would never see his mother again if he repeated what he had witnessed.
Prosecutors said DNA evidence supported the sexual allegations. A scientist testified that a stain on a pair of the victim’s pajama pants which contained semen that was a 1 in 291 billion matches to Jelani, but the defense argued that the pajama pants may have been cross-contaminated with other laundry.
The 34-year-old Minaj did not testify and has yet to address her brother’s conviction.
