Nicholas ‘Duffy’ Fudge, ‘Wicked Tuna’ Star, Dies at Age 28

Nicholas “Duffy” Fudge, star of Wicked Tuna, has died "unexpectedly" on Thursday, July 19, New Hampshire, the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home in Hampton, has confirmed to media. He was 28.

Nicholas' obituary reads,

His passions were fishing and the outdoors. As a child, Nick began tuna fishing with his father and grandfather. After becoming one of the top sport fishermen in the country, he earned a place on the National Geographic reality show Wicked Tuna for multiple seasons. Nick also treasured the environment and he took seriously his responsibility to protect it.

The cause of death of the late actor is yet to be revealed.

Wicked Tuna started in April 2012 on the National Geographic Channel and it's currently been airing its seventh season.

Of the Nicholas' death, the show’s official Twitter account also released a statement on Sunday, July 22.

The tweet reads,

[email protected] and @Pilgrim_Studios were saddened to learn that Wicked Tuna cast member Nicholas “Duffy” Fudge passed away this week. Duffy was the first mate on Captain Tyler McLaughlin’s fishing vessel, Pinwheel. We join his family and friends in mourning his untimely loss.

The network also paid tribute to the reality star during Sunday night’s Wicked Tuna episode.

A second tweet reads, "As a memorial for Duffy, we will be having a moment of silence on our Twitter during tonight’s episode. Rest In Peace."

Nicholas is survived by his parents, Ronald Fudge and Judy Fudge, and his younger brother, Cody Fudge. His family is asking for donations to the actor's Memorial Fund.
