New Mexico Father Beats Daughter to Death Refusing to do Homework

A New Mexico father, namely Brandon Reynolds, 36, went into a blind rage and beat his daughter to death on Thursday, April 4, after she refused to do her homework, authorities have confirmed.

According to a criminal complaint obtained, the father told investigators that he was "triggered" by his daughter refusing to do homework. He reportedly said that he blacked out while beating.

Brandon called first responders at approx. 1 a.m. on Friday, April 5, after he noticed that his daughter's breathing was shallow and she barely had a heartbeat.

A spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department told media on Friday that police were called after rescuer noticed signs of trauma on the girl.

According to the complaint, there were blood stains on the wall and carpet of the living room; the girl was covered with bruises.

The girl was rushed to the University of New Mexico hospital where she reportedly was pronounced dead.

Police said that Brandon is in custody at Albuquerque Metropolitan Detention Center. He was charged with "intentional child abuse resulting in the death of a child."
