Termed as the deadliest mass shooting in American history, Orlando hate crime has been the saddest topic of discussion on every news network for the last couple of days.
It resulted in 53 wounded and 49 dead, excluding the gunman, who was killed by Orlando Police after a three-hour standoff. The assailant was identified as Omar Mateen, 29-year-old American born to parents of Afghan background.
Witnesses said he was a regular patron of the nightclub, and some said he had used gay dating websites in the past. In the 9-1-1 call made by him shortly after the attack began, he swore allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
However, investigators have not directly linked him to ISIL and said the attack might have been ISIL-inspired without being ISIL-directed.
Stephanie Gosk for NBC reported from Orlando along with her colleagues Gabe Gutierrez and Janet Shamlian. It has been reported that some psychologists raised the possibility that Mateen has been sexually conflicted and that those feelings might have contributed to his lashing out against gays.
A Northwestern University psychologist, Michael Newcomb, was reported stating, People who are struggling to come to terms with their sexual identity do at times react to that by doing the exact opposite, which could be to become more masculine or more vocal about their ideas of a traditional family.
Stephanie Gosk has contributed in many television channels including NBC News, Today, NBC Nightly News, and MSNBC.
There is no news of her past affairs and relationships. She is not married to her partner with whom she has two daughters. She is a private person even in the age of paparazzi. Stephanie Gosk's net worth is estimated to be $2 million.
