A Minnesota mother, namely Emma LaRoque, 28, allegedly killed her two children before fatally shooting herself to death, authorities have confirmed.

During a press release on Monday, the Becker County Medical Examiner's Office said, the 28-year-old mother and the kids were found dead in an Ogema home after officials received a call about a "possible incident."

Ogema is a rural city that is 60 miles northeast of Fargo, N.D.

According to the office, Emma died from an apparent suicide while her sons Shane Woods, 9, and Frederick York, 4, both "died of homicidal violence."

A neighbor told local media that she saw Emma and her kids at a tribal meeting two weeks ago.

Valley News Live reported that a healing ceremony was conducted for the family at a tribal community center on Monday.

The three deaths reportedly have "the whole tribe feeling like they got sucker punched in the stomach."

The case is being investigated by Minnesota's Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

According to the Star Tribune, Emma's father, Mike, is the director of public safety for the White Earth Nation tribe.
