In the video, she shared that her doctors told her to rest with her 16.8 million followers. This resulted in her not being able to make the appearance on MTV Movie & TV Awards which took place on 16th June in LA.

The 14-year-old despite being sad about not being able to make it to the function, wished her co-star of Stranger Things that they had the best time. She also added:

I'll be there in spirit.

Millie has been having a very rough time as she had to deactivate her Twitter account because she became a subject of cyberbullying. There are numerous memes which reflect the actress as homophobic.

The experience indeed might have been very traumatizing which led her to quit Twitter for good.
