Miley Cyrus, Neil Patrick Harris, Elton John: Celebs React To Australia Voting Yes To Gay Marriage

Australians have voted in support of same-sex marriage and Hollywooders have come forward to applaud the decision.

More than 12 million people had taken part in the government survey among whom 61.6 percentage voted Yes, officials announced on Wednesday. While it is not a done deal quite yet, it paves the way for Parliament for the recognization of unions of gay and lesbian couples legally.

The prime minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull said it should be legal “before Christmas.”

After the Australia voting Yes, celebrities had been encouraging as they are excited about the outcome. Elton John, who has spoken out about the issue a number of times while he recently toured there, thanked Australia for their yes.

Many other celebrities including Neil Patrick HarrisMiley CyrusLiam HemsworthRuby Rose and many more took their social media sites to cheer and applaud the Australia Voting Yes.
