Mike Thalassitis, Star of Love Island, Dies At Age 26

Mike Thalassitis, a former star on British reality dating show Love Island, died on Friday, March 15, multiple sources have confirmed. He was 26.

According to a BBC report, his death was confirmed by his management company. It didn't immediately give details about his passing.

Daily Mail reported that the television personality was found dead in his hometown of Essex. The cause of death has not been disclosed yet.

Mike competed on the season 3 of the dating reality show in 2017. He also appeared on the British reality show Celebs Go Dating.

According to The Guardian, he was previously a semi-professional soccer player in England.

Following the news of Mike's death, multiple celebrities including his fellow Love Island stars paid tribute to him on social media.

His Love Island co-star Jonny Mitchell shared a photo of him with Mike on Instagram, writing that he is "heartbroken" and describing the late actor as always being "full of so much positivity and charisma."

Love Island presenter Caroline Flack and many other contestants from various seasons of the show also mourned Mike's death.

Mike was previously dated The Only Way Is Essex star Megan McKenna. The former couple reportedly was in a relationship for seven months before getting split last year.
