Matthew McConaughey grew up with his two older brothers Rooster McConaughey, an actor, and Pat McConaughey. He is a relative of Confederate brigadier general, Dandridge McRae.
McConaughey, who migrated to Texas, completed his primary education from Longview High School in 1988. After completing his primary level education, McConaughey graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in the spring of 1993 with a degree in Radio-Television-Film. He also enrolled at College of Communication. He also made a plan to enroll at a law school, but he later realized he was not interested in the faculty.
