In a recent bust at a cargo facility, a week earlier, in the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas, narcotics worth a total of $7 million was seized by the US police.
on Monday, December 10, border agents at the International Bridge cargo facility were alerted to a commercial shipment of stone blocks.
Officers discovered packages of narcotics hidden within the shipment with the help of drug-sniffing dogs. The bridge crosses the Rio Grande that connects Texas with Mexico.
35 packages the police seized believed to be methamphetamine of weight 320 pounds, 7 packages believed to be cocaine of weight 40 pounds and 2 packages believed to be heroin of weight seven pounds.
According to border officials, the value of the total narcotic is estimated to be $6,998,000.
The trailer and the drugs inside it were reported turned over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Homeland Security Investigations agents are investigating the case.
