Jaclyn Schwartzberg and Ryan Buckley! Married at First Sight stars have split after less than a year of marriage, multiple sources have confirmed, acknowledging that they parted ways “a while ago.”
A source told PEOPLE, who was first to report the pair's split news, that they broke up amicably.
The insider told the magazine, "They remain friends and are grateful for everything they've learned while being married to a stranger".
The former couple, who married on 25 August 2017, joined season 6 of the Lifetime reality series, which was premiered in January.
Although they had frequent arguments and differing lifestyles, during the April 24 finale, the duo chose to stay in the marital relationship.
In the episode, the 29-year-old Boston firefighter confessed to his parents, who have been married for 40 years,
We’ve been trying to figure out if we are going to still stay together, but decision day is around the corner and it’s hard for her. It’s hard for me sometimes. We have to be on the same page, and sometimes I feel like we are missing each other.
Earlier in the season, Ryan said that he wouldn’t be “heartbroken at all” if he and Jaclyn, who is a sales representative 29 go for a divorce. However, by the finale, Ryan opened up about his idea of reconciling.
He told his parents at the time,
I got married at first sight to find love and to find that person that I am always going to be with, and more than anything, I want to stay married. But the rest of my life is at risk. When we start fighting, it gets kind of out of control and it’s just like now we are all of a sudden jumping to the end conclusion. We don’t know if this is something we are going to want for the rest of our lives.
Jaclyn is a teacher-turned-sales representative whose boyfriend passed away suddenly two years before the show. Ryan, meanwhile, he is a firefighter and paintball enthusiast.
Married at First Sight season 7 premieres on Lifetime on Tuesday, July 10, at 9 p.m. ET.
