    Maria Shriver was born Maria Owings Shriver on 6 November 1955, in Chicago, Illinois. She is of German descent from her father side, Sargent Shriver, and Irish descent through her mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver. She attended Westland Middle School and also graduated from Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in 1973. 

    Shriver co-anchored the CBS morning news with Forrest Sawyer from August 1985 until August 1986, co-anchored NBC News's Sunday Today from 1987 until 1990. She published a book " Ten Things I Wish I'd Known Before I Went Out Into The Real World" in 2002. 

    Her husband Arnold Schwarzenegger was appointed as the 38th Governor of California on November 17, 2003, she became the First Lady of California. She left the journalism on 3 February 2004, to maintain her status as the First Lady of California. 

    Shriver returned to journalism on 23 March 2007, hosting the panel-discussion talk show Larry King Live on CNN with musician Sheryl Crow and other guests. After the excessive media coverage of the death of Anna Nicole Smith, she announced of quitting journalism.

    She has been a lifelong advocate for people with intellectual disabilities and also a member of the International Board of Special Olympics, an organization formed by her mother. 

    Talking about her affairs and personal life, she married to the Austrian bodybuilder, actor, and the 38th Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The couple first knew each other at a charity tennis tournament being held at her mother's home in 1977. The couple tied their knots on 26 April 1986, in Hyannis, Massachusetts, at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church.

    The couple together has four children:  Katherine Eunice born 1989, Christina Maria Aurelia born 1991, Patrick Arnold born 1993, and Christopher Sargent Shriver born 1997. After 25 years of their married life, the couple got divorced on 9 May 2011.

    Apart from her love life, she has also appeared in several movies and TV series like Last Action Hero, That's So Raven, and others.
