Luke Perry Was Buried in an Eco-Friendly Mushroom Suit

Updated On 05 May, 2019 Published On

Speaking out about the funeral! It's been two months since Luke Perry died of a massive stroke and Sophie Perry has just explained about the Beverly Hills, 90210 star's unconventional burial clothing choice.

Sophie, 18, took to Instagram on Friday, May 3, and shared a photo of mushrooms, noting that it now holds "an entirely new meaning" for her.

She wrote,

Any explanation i give will not do justice to the genius that is the mushroom burial suit, but it is essentially an eco friendly burial option via mushrooms. All i can say is that you should all look into them at coeio.com or just by googling ‘mushroom burial suit’.

She then detailed her dad’s environmental decision.

She concluded,

My dad discovered it, and was more excited by this than I have ever seen him. He was buried in this suit, one of his final wishes. They are truly a beautiful thing for this beautiful planet, and I want to share it with all of you.

Here's the post, check it out.

In December I went to San Francisco with two of my best friends. One of them, had never never been to California, so we went to show him the Redwoods. I took this picture while we were there, because i thought, “damn, those mushrooms are beautiful.” Now, mushrooms hold an entirely new meaning for me. The youngest child of the late Riverdale star later responded to a fan who asked whether a coffin was used or not.

She replied,

You can skip the casket all together, if that is allowed by the place you are being buried. But its [sic] definitely not necessary. And if you do use a casket, it would have to be a biodegradable one.

Luke passed away on March 4, days after he had a heart attack at his home in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood of Los Angeles.

According to the death certificate of the late actor, he was buried in Dickson, Tennessee, where he owned a farm and lived part-time, on March 11.

Luke shared daughter Sophie and 21-year old son Jack with his ex-wife Minnie Sharp.
