Luis Suarez was born on January 24, 1987, in Salto, Uruguay to parents Rodolfo Suarez and Sandra Suarez.

Suarez started off his football career professionally from Nacional youth club at the young age of 16.

Suarez made his international debut in football as a member of the Uruguayan team in  2007 U20 World Cup held in Canada.


Married to Sofia Balbi

Suarez married his childhood sweetheart and longtime girlfriend, Sofia Balbi in the year 2009 and the couple have three children. 


Luis Alberto Suarez Diaz is an Uruguayan footballer who currently plays for FC Barcelona and the Uruguay national team as a Striker. Successful in his career, Suarez has achieved several awards like European Golden Shoe, Pichichi Trophy and FIFA FIFPro World XI. He has won 17 trophies for his teams in his career till date.  
Suarez was born on January 24, 1987, to father Rodolfo Suarez and mother Sandra Suarez, in Salto, Uruguay and was raised along with his seven siblings. His mother was very supportive of his interest in football and encouraged him in taking further steps for his career.
Suarez played his first ever professional match for Nacional youth club against Copa Libertadores. Although the match ended in a 3-2 defeat, he netted his first senior-level goal with an impressive overhead kick. At the age of 19, he went to the Netherlands to play in Groningen until 2007 when he was transferred to Ajax.
He made his international debut in football as a member of the Uruguayan team that reached the knock out stage of the 2007 U20 World Cup held in Canada.

In January 2011, Suarez was transferred to Liverpool where the team won the League Cup in his first full season. In the year 2014, he was named the PFA Players' Player of the Year and the FWA Footballer of the year. 

Furthermore, he won the Premier League Golden Boot and the European Golden Shoe with Cristiano Ronaldo before moving to Barcelona in a transfer worth €82.3 million (£64.98 million), making him one of the most expensive players in football's history.

He has scored 400 senior goals in his career as of 2018 and currently plays as one of the important strikers of FC Barcelona along with Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Despite the fact that he has had a very successful career, he is also regarded as one of the most controversial football players. He was banned from 2014 the World Cup due to his immoral activities on the field.

Talking about his personal life, the striker married his childhood sweetheart Sofia Balbi in the year 2009, and they have three children together, son Benjamin and daughter Delfina. The couple welcomed their third child Lauti Suarez in late October 2018.

Forbes has ranked him 60th in the world's highest paid atheletes with $26.9 million, as of May 2018. The player receives $19.9 million as his salary whereas he gets a collective amount of $7 million through his brand endorsements. 

Long-time boot sponsor Adidas launched an alphaskin collection with the player this past winter and used him along with Messi and Paul Pogba to launch their 'Cold Blooded' collection. The 1.82 meter tall player has recently partnered with Puma. He has further endorsed brands such as Adidas, PepsiCo, My Brand, Hawker and Samsung.

In April, Gatorade launched its largest international campaign and its first in a specific sport with Suarez and Messi. His appeal has even spread to Asia where he pitches upstart tech gadget company Tronsmart along with mobile phone company Gome, both in China, and Tourism Malaysia.

The car collection of Suarez is quite extensive as he owns some of the best luxury cars in the world like BMW, Range Rover, Ferrari and Mercedes Benz. The player owns 9 luxury cars whose total value is approximately $3 million.

Apart from his work, the 31-year-old is also involved in charitable works. From sending 500 Christmas baskets to children at a hospital in 2014, to huge donations, Suarez is active in charity as well.
