Latin Pop Star Gabriel Diniz Dies in a Plane Crash At Age 28

Latin pop star Gabriel Diniz died in a plane crash on Monday, May 27, when he was on the way to celebrate his girlfriend Karoline Calheiros’ birthday party. He was 28.

His death was confirmed by his management team. In a statement to Us Weekly, the team said, "It is with great pain that we can confirm the death of Gabriel Diniz and the plane’s crew."

According to local news reports, the singer and two pilots passed away when their small plane crashed the Porto do Mato town in Estância, Sergipe, Brazil.

The local fire department officials responded to the scene but they are sill investigating the cause of the accident.

The aircraft, which was departed from Salvador-Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport, was supposed to land at Maceió-Zumbi dos Palmares International Airport.

The Paraquedas singer, who recently released a single, Jenifer, had more than 2 million subscribers on his YouTube channel and 4.5 million followers on his Instagram account.

His last post on Instagram was a photo of him performing at a concert in Feira de Santana, Brazil.
