Late actor Mike Connors career in Air Force and his successful sixty years in Hollywood

A multi-talented actor, Mike Connors with the birth name Krekor Ohanian is a successful American actor, basketball player, and former air force, officer. He is best known for his title role in American TV detective series Mannix as Joe Mannix. He served in Air Force in World War II and also attended UCLA on Basketball Scholarship. Mike died Thursday at the age of 91.

Mike was married to Mary Lou Willey and the couple gave birth to two children. However, his first son died at the age of 17 due to schizophrenia. Stick with us, to know all about Mike's successful career.

A few weeks back, Mike was diagnosed with Leukemia, a cancer of the blood or bone marrow. He was admitted to a hospital for the treatment at Los Angeles hospital but, he could not win the battle of the race with cancer and died on 26th of December, 2017.

Mike was married to Mary Lou Miley in 1949 and the couple gave birth to two children. Their first child was a son named Mattew Gunner Connors who suffered from hallucinations when he was a child. Sadly, Mattew died at the age of 17 due to long-term mental disorder. Mike's second child is a daughter named Dana Lou Connors.

Mike is a basketball player and former Air Force officer

Mike was not interested in acting from his childhood. Rather than acting, he was interested in playing basketball. He used to play basketball since his college days and was nicknamed Touch by his teammates. 

During World War II, Mike served in the United States Army Air Forces and again after the war, he got the basketball scholarship at the University of California at Los Angeles. Mike used to play under coach John Wooden and also got to be the member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Mike was taken into acting by his expressive face while playing football

Mike used to play many state-level tournaments and in one of his matches, director William Wellman was in the audience. William was so impressed by his expressive face that he offered Mike to work as an actor. He started his acting career in 1950 as a supporting actor in John Wayne's Island in the sky.

Mike acting career and success in Mannix

Mike debuted in the thriller movie Sudden Fear in 1952 and made his brief appearance as an Amalekite herder in the movie The Ten in 1956. He has appeared in many legendary movies such as Swamp Women and Five Guns West. Lately, he appeared in the TV series Two and a Half Men in the episode, Prostitutes, and Gelato

Mike is most known for his role in popular American television detective series Mannix as the title role Joe Mannix. By his excellent performance in Mannix, he won a Golden Globe Awards. Mike has played three different series with the same name Joe Mannix which are Here's Lucy and Diagnosis Murder.
