Lana Del Rey: Man Has Been Arrested in Orlando Over 'Kidnap Threat'

US state of Florida police have arrested a man who reportedly threated the singer Lana Del Ray to kidnap. The man was carrying a knife before he had been taken into the custody near the Amway Center in Orlando where the 32-year-old singer was due to perform, officials said.

Police said 43-year-old Michael Hunt faces charges of aggravated stalking with a credible threat and attempted to kidnap with a weapon. Michael was reported to have made "cryptic and threatening" posts on social media.

The incident happened on Friday evening but it was only Saturday when it was made public. OPD (Orlando Police Department) said that officers received a tip-off on Friday and arrested Michael at Hughey Avenue and Central Boulevard.

Police said in a statement,

When he was taken into custody, Hunt was in possession of tickets to the Lana Del Rey performance and a knife,

It added that at no time had Michael come into contact with the songstress, whose real name is Elizabeth Grant.

Police further added,

On Friday, OPD determined this was a credible threat and worked swiftly to ensure the safety of everyone involved and of everyone who attended the show,

Michael is being held in custody at Orange County Jail.
