It's been nearly three weeks Kristoff St. John left this world and it's now been revealed that The Young and the Restless star was placed under a hold for 72 hours for a psychiatric evaluation just a few days before his death.
The television personality was released on February 1, just a couple of days before he passed away, multiple sources have confirmed.
In addition to this, more answers about the late actor's death came out on Tuesday, March 19, when the Los Angeles County coroner’s office revealed his cause of death.
According to his autopsy report, Kristoff passed away accidentally of "hypertrophic heart disease" due to "effects of ethanol."
As previously reported, Kristoff, portrayed Neil Winters on the CBS hit series, was found dead at his home in Woodland Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles on February 3.
His death came four years after his son, Julian St. John, committed suicide at the age of 23 following his treatment for "mental health issues."
His ex-wife, Mia St. John, with whom he had been married for four years (from 1991 to 1995), took to Twitter to paid tribute to her ex-husband after his passing. (He was also previously married to Allana Nadal (2001-2007).
Mia wrote in a since-deleted tweet,
THAT HOSPITAL KILLED OUR SON @TheArtofJulian THEN MY HUSBAND @kristoffstjohn. THATS WHAT HAPPENED! THEY KILLED MY FAMILY.
Kristoff was engaged to a Russian model, Kseniya Mikhaleva. The couple became engaged in September 2018 when he popped the question.
