Kristin has been involved in acting since a young age. She was just nine years old when she induced her desire to become an actress. Since 9, she began appearing in theater productions including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
In 1983, she completed high school from A.C. Flora High School then joined Rutgers University and graduated from Rutgers with a BFA degree in Acting in 1987. The same year of her graduation, she made her movie debut with Doom Asylum. Kristin played the role of Brooke Armstrong in the television series, Melrose Place in 1995. She was critically acclaimed for this role.
In 1998, Kristin was cast in the TV show Sex and the City, with co-actors including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall. Kristin appeared as Charlotte York Goldenblatt in the show from 1998-2004, and for the portrayal of Charlotte she was awarded Screen Actors Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series (2001) and Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series (2003).
Kristin was also cast in the adaption of the TV show, Sex and the City in 2008 and its sequel in 2010. The movie was directed by Michael Patrick King. The 2010 sequel was a major hit, made on a budget of $100 million the movie had a gross collection of $294.6 million.
Lately, Kristin appeared as Eve in Paul Shapiro's directorial A Heavenly Christams (2016).
