Korryn Shandawn was just like any other normal people who was not noticed by the media but she came into highlights after her tragic death. The whole thing started with the video posted by her in her Instagram which showed the police harassing her. She was killed in 2016 and people starting talking about her as another story of the police brutality.
Not much is mentioned about her personal life, but she was married to her husband and had two children a five-year-old boy and a girl child.
In March 2016 she was stopped by the police while she was driving her car. Her fault was that she was driving in a car with no number plate instead, there was a cardboard that read "Any government official who compromises this pursuit of happiness and right to travel, will be held criminally responsible and fined, as this is a natural right and freedom.”
The police officers and Korryn had a heated argument, as told by an eyewitness. Later Korryn was kept in jail for 2 days without any food, medicines or even a phone call. After she was released she outed the videos in Instagram showing how the police had tortured her. She was ordered to come to the court for further investigation.
On August 1, 2016, the police came with a bench warrant in Korryn's apartment for not being present in the court when she was asked to. The day was a nightmare for her and her family as she was killed. At first, she did not open the door and later the police brought a key from the landlord.
The media does not know exactly what had happened but the police mentioned that she showed a gun to one of the officers, so another officer who did not want to risk the life of that officer had shot her down which injured her 5-year-old son and killed Korryn.
Korryn nationality was American and her ethnicity was Black/African
