Walsh began her acting career along with her sister, Sally as a child artist in an advert " Asda". She was only six years old when she appeared as young Cosette in a regional production of "Les Miserables" and ITV's "The Book Tower."
Her initial step towards professional career began after her audition for a television show Popstars: The Rivals, where she sang, "Where do Broken Hearts Go." After selection in the show, she got an opportunity to comprise with a new girl group "Girls Aloud."
The group's debut single, "Sound of the Underground" became Christmas number one single on the "UK Single Chart". One of the best single of the group "The Promise" achieved Brit Awards. Girls Aloud is listed in the Guinness World Records as Most Succesful Reality TV Group.
Walsh's first solo album, Central Stage became a great success, later gain more popularity after her recording for England's World Cup, "Greatest Day", a track originally performed by British Band. She also published her autobiography, "A Whole Lot of History".
