The actress who appears on the ABC's show scandal as Olivia Pope is now starring in Rick Famuyiwa's new flick based on true story, Confirmation. Kerry Washington plays the role of Anita Hill, who in 1993 falsely accused a Supreme Court nominee, Clarence Thomas, of sexually abusing her.

The political thriller movie released on HBO on April 16, 2016, and instantly brought the country alive to the scenes they had witnessed almost 20 years ago.

Although everyone already knows the ending of the movie as Clarence Thomas is now a Supreme Court justice and he prominently defended himself by calling the Judiciary Committee proceedings a 'high-tech lynching.'

The 39-year-old also spoke about her marriage amid rumors of her divorce. 'I will neither deny the accusations nor will I accept them. I am never going to discuss my personal life in the media.' said the actress

When asked about the movie she continued 'Confirmation is completely based on the real life events of the infamous hearing. It draws the dialogs from the actual transcripts from the hearing.'

We hope Kerry gets justice for her work as Clarence Thomas did against all odds in 1993.
