A Kentucky dad, namely Anthony Trice, allegedly punched his 1-month-old son in the head in frustration after he lost a video game.
The father was arrested and has been charged with murder in the death of his infant child.
Louisville TV station WAVE reported that his bail was increased to $1 million after the baby boy died on Sunday, May 5, from his injuries.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, Anthony, 26, was home alone on Friday, May 3, with his son and playing the video game.
He allegedly threw the control device after losing the game and struck the 1-month old in the head.
Anthony then picked up the baby in an attempt to quiet him but dropped him into the kitchen while making a bottle.
He then propped the 1-year-old in a seated position in a bedroom with a blanket and the bottle and went to use the bathroom.
When he returned, he found the child "in distress" after which he called 911.
The boy was rushed to the hospital in serious condition and passed away on May 5, 2019.
The father was arrested on Saturday on a charge of first-degree criminal abuse of a child. The charge was upgraded to murder after the baby died.
He didn't plead guilty to both charges in court on Monday.
