Congratulations are in order for Kendra Duggar and Joseph Duggar! The couple has have welcomed their first child, a baby boy together, multiple sources have confirmed.
A representative for the family told media, "Kendra delivered yesterday without complications. Mom and baby are both doing great".
The new parents also announce this exciting news, sharing a photo with the newborn on Duggarfamily.com.
The couple welcomed the latest addition to the family on Friday, June 8 and they named their son Garrett David at 1:36 p.m. The baby weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. and was 20.5 inches long.
The statement on the website reads,
No matter how many times we’ve experienced the joy of babies born in our families, there’s nothing comparable to the joy in our hearts today! Children truly are a gift from God. We are so thankful for his safe arrival and this new journey as parents.
As previously reported, in February, the couple reveal the sex of the baby in a unique way. They used tannerite mixed with blue-colored powder to reveal the gender once the explosive denotated.
Two months earlier, multiple sources had confirmed that the two were expecting their first child.
The couple, who first met at church during their childhood, were engaged at the British actor's sister Joy-Anna’s wedding in May 2017.
In September of the following year, they got married at the First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
