Katherine Heigl made her acting debut with the movie That Night in 1992. This movie is written and directed by Craig Bolotin and stars C. Thomas Howell and Juliette Lewis in the lead. Later in 1994, she appeared in the movie, My Father the Hero, a French- American comedy-drama which is directed by Steve Miner.

After a year, Heigl featured in the movie, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, an American action film set on board a train traveling through the Rocky Mountains from Denver to Los Angeles, Directed by Geoff Murphy.
