Five feet and nine inches tall, Karan Johar was born as Karan Dharma Kama Johar in the early 1970s in Mumbai, India to Hiroo Johar and Yash Johar. His father Yash Johar is also a film producer. Yash Chopra was his maternal uncle.

1989

Began his acting career

Karan entered into the film industry as an actor. He made his acting debut in 1989 by starring the role of Srikanth in an Indian children's television series Indradhanush.  Half a decade later, he portrayed the role of Rocky in an Indian romance film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. 

2004

Appeared in the movie, Main Hoon Na
