Justin Theroux is breaking his silence on his break up with Jennifer Aniston! In an article published in The New York Times on Saturday, September 22, the 'The Leftovers', star, 47, spoke about his February split with his ex-wife, 49, hinting that he may be dating again.
He told the publication,
The good news is that was probably the most — I’m choosing my words really carefully — it was kind of the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity. In a weird way, just sort of navigating the inevitable perception of it is the exhausting part.
The actor also gave some insight into the cause of the duo's split. He added, "These are actually in reality small events that take place. But everything can feel like 10 on the Richter scale if you make the headline big enough and salacious enough."
It's been seven months they called off their relationship and Justin says he’s moved on, noting that breakups in Hollywood are a pretty common thing.
[It] doesn’t have that seismic shift of an ordinary couple, where everything is, like, you have to tear a baby in half. Neither one of us is dead, neither one of us is looking to throw hatchets at each other. It’s more like, it’s amicable. It’s boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be.
It was heartbreaking only in the sense that the friendship would not be the same, as far as just the day to day. But the friendship is shifting and changing, you know, so that part is something that we’re both very proud of.
Justin also hinted about having an affair again. Responding to questions about his love life he said, "Is this the part where I coyly raise an eyebrow and not answer the question?"
If he is really dating a new lady, then who would be his new partner? Well, it's probably Emma Stone. In on May 29, the pair was spotted enjoying a romantic day in France, one day after attending the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2019 runway show.
They enjoyed each other's company while relaxing on the patio of a house in the small village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence at the time.
The two are yet to confirm their relationship.
Jennifer, for her part, is also not being too emotional after the breakup. She said in August, "It’s pretty crazy. The misconceptions are ‘Jen can’t keep a man,’ and ‘Jen refuses to have a baby because she’s selfish and committed to her career.’
She continued at the time,
Or that I’m sad and heartbroken. First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions. No one knows what’s going on behind closed doors. No one considers how sensitive that might be for my partner and me. They don’t know what I’ve been through medically or emotionally.
Justin and the Dumplin' actress had become married on August 5, 20015. Additionally, Jennifer was previously also married to ex-husband Brad Pitt (2000-2005), who parted ways with Angelina Jolie in 2014.
The divorce finalization of Brad and Angelina is in the process.
