Julianne Moore has made dozens of movies over the course of her career and some of her movies include multiple sex scenes.
The Oscar-winning actress said filming sex scenes is not as realistic as people may think.
In an interview published on Thursday, March 14, the actress star, 58, who has just worked on Gloria Bell, opened uop People magazine about her new movie and its sex scenes.
Sh told the outlet, "People never have sex the way they do in the movies," adding, "You see that in these old sexy movies where somebody rips somebody’s blouse off."
Moore then joked, "I’d be so upset if someone tore the buttons off my shirt,” she joked. “I’d be ‘What are you doing?'"
In the Gloria Bell movie, she plays a divorcee and mom-of-two children who fall in love with John Turturro's character Arnold, who is also a divorced parent.
For the sex scenes of this new movie, Moore had asked the director, Sebastian Lelio, to make them more realistic.
She explained to the publication,
I do think that sex is challenging especially with someone brand new. It’s easy to have sex with someone you’ve known for a really long time. What we wanted to depict in 'Gloria Bell' was the reality of that. We wanted it to be real and not fake.
The actress said that appearing topless was just "part of it" because they "wanted to add a level of reality to the situation. She added, "It’s part of the storytelling. It adds a level of reality."
