President Trump who turned 72 on the 14th of June, Thursday, sparked controversy after separating children from their immigrant parents. The president has implemented a policy to detain the US-Mexico border jumpers as undocumented immigrants.
After the detainment, several children have been transferred to the foster care while their parents are detained or jailed.
On the auspicious occasion of Trump's 72nd birthday, Teigen revealed through her Twitter that each member of her four-member family has donated a sum of $72,000 to the ACLU. They have donated $288,000 in total.
Apart from donating the sum, she also requested others to donate as much as $7.20, $72, or as much as you like to the organization as an opposition to Trump's administration.
She tweeted regarding the inhumane policy of Trump,
John and I are outraged to see and hear the horror stories of immigrant families seeking asylum and refuge in America being ripped apart due to inhumane policies of the Trump administration. These actions are cruel, anti-family and go against everything we believe this country should represent.
Teigen also shouted out to the ACLU about their work. She supported the commitment of the organization to defend the rights and humanity of the vulnerable families.
Chrissy further added,
The President celebrates his 72nd birthday today. On this auspicious occasion, in order to Make Trump's Birthday Great Again, each member of our family has donated $72,000 to the ACLU.

Trump and Chrissy have been sparring since a few months back. Their fight resulted in the president blocking Teigen on Twitter in July 2017. But, later a judge ruled out the blockade stating that it's unconstitutional to block anybody on social media based on their political views.
