Jeff Garlin and Marla Garlin have officially split! The 'The Goldbergs' star has filed for divorce from his wife Marla Garlin, on Tuesday, September 4, after 24 years of marriage, multiple sources have confirmed.
According to court documents obtained, the comedian, 56, cited the reason for his filing 'irreconcilable differences', listed the date of separation as July 25, 2017, which was one day after the couple's 23rd wedding anniversary.
As per the documents, Jeff is willing to pay spousal support to his estranged wife, but he has requested to each pay their own attorneys’ fees.
The Curb Your Enthusiasm star and the casting director, also 56, who married in July 1994, have two sons James Garlin, 22, and Duke Garlin, 18, together. As for the 'Child Custody', it will not play a role in the divorce as both of their children are over 18.
The comic actor and Marla had first become engaged and then tied the knot; Jeff reportedly had proposed her at a Neil Diamond concert as he performed “Hava Nagila.”
In 2006, he recalled the moment to The New York Times, “I wanted to pick a moment she would never forget.”
Long before their marriage, during the early days of Jeff's career, Marla worked as his agent. She joked to the newspaper in 2007, "I told people I got a lot more than 10 percent!"
Jeff, who is best known for his appearance as Jeff Greene on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Murray Goldberg on The Goldbergs and Mort Meyers on Arrested Development was nominated for Emmy Award for seven times.
He also had recurring roles in movies like The Bounty Hunter (2010) and Safety Not Guaranteed (2012).
