Jamie Foxx to Star in His Second Comic Book Film: Spawn by Todd McFarlane

Jamie Foxx is all set to appear in the starring role in Todd McFarlane and Blumhouse Production’s Spawn. The movie will mark his second comic book film as his first comic book role was the portrayal of Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Moving along, Spawn’s original comic was created by McFarlane and meanwhile, he is ready to write and direct the pic alongside Jason Blum.

Character, The Spawn is a human-turned-Hellspawn possessing superhuman strength, near immortality and speed, and can teleport, shapeshift and heal. The character gained instant popularity in the community of comics after it appeared as a print in 1992.

The character later in 1997 was adapted into a feature film by New Line followed by HBO’s animated series lasting three seasons. The series was able to win two Emmy Awards too. 

Nonetheless, Foxx who recently appeared in Baby Driver as Bats is portraying the character and he had just a few words to say about it. Foxx said:

I told him no one would work harder than me if given the opportunity … well … the opportunity is here!! I’m humbled and ready to transform.
