Talented emcee Jada was born in Yonkers, N.Y.C as Jason Phillips. His musical journey started in Yonkers where he would rigorously practice rapping as young as 12 years old to have become a freestyle rapper by the time he reached 16.

1994

Started hip hop group The Lox

In 1994, he and fellow high school mates Sheek Louch and Styles P founded The Lox originally known as The Warlocks. It was then changed to The Lox (full form : Living off Experience) to appeal to a mainstream audience

August 7 , 2001

Release of Debut Album Kiss tha Game Goodbye

Growing discomfort with the direction of P.Diddy's Bad Boy Records, Jadakiss and his group The LOX went on to sign with Ruff Ryders record label and 2001 was Jadakiss's golden year as he released his debut album which peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 . It was certified Gold.

Release of Sophomore Album : Kiss of Death

His sophomore effort Kiss of Death was released on summer of 04 and topped the Billboard 200 as well as on the Rap Album chart. The album includes 'U Make Me Wanna' featuring Mariah Carey, 'Time's Up' featuring Nate Dogg and his most successful single "Why" featuring Anthony Hamilton.

2007

Signed to Roc-A-Fella Record Label

Following the release of his second album, Jada was signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records. Jay- Z had been contriving it for a while and his third album would also be released through Roc-A-Fella apart from D-Block, Ruff Ryders whom he was associated with during that time.

April 7 , 2009

Release of Third Album - The Last Kiss

The Last Kiss was released on 7th April 2009 through D- Block, Ruff Ryders, Roc-A-Fella and Def Jam. The album topped Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart and peaked at #3 on Billboard 200.

Jada had decided to title it "Kiss my Ass" but due to its explicitness had to retitle it into "The Last Kiss". Critics inquired whether it was his final album and he responded by saying "It's only the last time I’m using the word kiss on my album names and it completes the trilogy" referring to his previous two album releases. 

 

November 20 , 2015

Release of Fourth Album - Top 5 Dead or Alive

Jadakiss's fourth album titled ' Top 5 Dead or Alive' was released on 20th November of 2015. The productions on tracks were handled by Bangladesh, Just Blaze , Rico Beats, Akon , Swizz Beats to name a few and featured former labelmate P.Diddy as well as Future, Wiz Khalifa, Ne-Yo, Young Buck and Nas.

It topped R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200.

Jadakiss has two Gold certified albums up to date : Kiss tha Game Goodbye (2001) and Kiss of Death (2004) and has closely worked with notable artists in the hip-hop industry such as Swizz Beats, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, DJ Khaled.
Eminem has cited Jadakiss as one of the best rappers in his song 'Till I Collapse'.
