Herschelle Gibbs was born in Green Point, Cape Town, South Africa in early 1970s. His birth name was Herschellle Herman Gibbs. He complotted his primary studies from St. Joseph’s Marist College and after than completed higher studies from Diocesan College.

First player to hit six sixes in an Over

Herschelle Gibbs was the first ever player to hit six sixes in an over in a World Cup match. During 2007 Cricket World Cup, he scored six sixes in an over against Netherlands in One-Day International. This has made him known forever in International Cricket.

Herschelle Gibbs married Tonielle Povie in St Kills in 2007. But sooner after their they got divorced and they did not had any children too. After that he was in relationship with Sherrin Davie which also didn’t last long.

Herschelle Gibbs was once dragged into controversy after he was found smoking marijuana along with other teammates during South Africa tour of West Indies in 1991. He was also involved in match fixing with former captain Hansie Cronje, who offered him $15000 to score less than 20 runs against West Indies in 3rd One-day International of the series. For doing so he was banned from International Cricket for six months and he also had to meet Indian Police for his match-fixing scandal.

Herschelle Gibbs married Tonielle Povey in 2007  but got divorced soon after their short-lived marriage. After that, he was in relation with his former girlfriend, Sherrin Davie. Currently, he seems to be single and he has not revealed any information regarding his marriage, affairs, and girlfriends.
